Requirements – Qualification and Experience:
The post requires a visionary person holding an earned PhD (or Equivalent Academic Doctorate) from a recognized university with at least six (6) years of academic and research experience at senior level and demonstrated leadership skills in an academic and/or research institution (at least 3 years at the level of Dean/Deputy Principal/Institute Director and above) with a demonstrated academic ability and record.
A good understanding of governance structures and excellent understanding of the current trends in university education and training locally, regionally and globally; excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to network, fundraise, mobilize training and research grants that will be central to the development of the college/university is a requirement.
He/she must a committed to the highest ethical standards, integrity, accountability and professionalism, teamwork and stewardship.
Responsibilities:
The Principal will be the Chief Executive Officer of the Emmanuel Christian College and will be responsible for the institution’s mandate and accountable to the Board of Directors.
He/she provides strategic direction, innovative and creative leadership to the college/university and represents the institution nationally, regionally and internationally.
The principal facilitates local and international partnerships with institutions of higher learning, research and other agencies for the advancement of the goals and objectives of the Emmanuel Christian College.
Terms of Service:
The position of the Principal is a 3 year contract eligible for renewal on the basis of satisfactory performance.
The post carries a competitive remuneration package.
Service Commencement: 1st January 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter.
