The International Training Centre Manager reports directly to the Director, Business Management and will be a member of the Senior Management Team.
Reporting to: Director, Business Management
Marie Stopes Kenya (MSK) works in partnership with Marie Stopes International (MSI) and is a marketing focused, results orientated social enterprise.
The primary responsibility of MSK’s role is to further MSI’s Goal: THE PREVENTION OF UNWANTED BIRTHS and its mission of ensuring the individuals’ right to: CHILDREN BY CHOICE AND NOT BY CHANCE THROUGH INNOVATION.

Key Responsibilities
Measure: Annual business plan and budget forecast
Develop a portfolio of current and new partners together with a business volume analysis brought in by each partner.
Measure: Current and new partner portfolio with business volume analysis.
Lead in the promotion of the ITC including ensuring that the website is developed and actively running and working with MSI, MDT and IPD to create awareness and opportunities for the ITC.
Measure: Developed and running website and referrals from MDT, MSI and IPD
Measure: Documented new training Curricula and list if new services brought on board
Ensuring local and international accreditation of the International Training Centre as a training facility.
Measure: Local and international accreditation and certification.
Ensure superior customer relations and service, proper administrative and financial management, good governance and professional efficiency at the ITC.
Meet and exceed the budgeted revenue and surplus target
Measure: Met targets as per the 2014 business plan.
Overall coordination of ALL ITC activities and trainings ensuring that the ITC runs efficiently and smoothly.
Measure: Superior operational efficiency.
Other Duties
- Additional duties as necessary and directed by the Director of Business Management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Management, Medicine etc)
- Demonstrated business acumen, project management or management of training institution
- Fluent in spoken and written English, and French (desirable)
- Ability to work proficiently with basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
- At least two (2) years’ experience running a training centre, or managing a service based business
- A high standard of written/spoken English and Kiswahili.
- Advanced computer skills, experience in MS Word, Excel and Outlook essential
- Ability to multi-task and able to work well under pressure
- Good record-keeping skills with the ability to track and follow up on various requests
- Demonstrated high attention to detail and ability to follow through tasks to completion
- Punctual and reliable
- Good organisation and prioritisation skills
- Ability to work self directed and use initiative
- Ability to work well in a team environment; good interpersonal and communication skills
- Trustworthy and responsible
