A leading company with a large state-of-the-art kitchen wishes to recruit a Unit Chef.
We are currently looking for a dynamic and self motivated professional who wants to move his/her career forward.

As the Unit Chef, you will be responsible for menu creation, management and training of kitchen staff, ordering and purchasing of inventory.

Your role will include key responsibilities such as:

  • Developing, costing and delivering creative menus for the unit
  • Supporting the Purchasing Department and Main Kitchen with re ordering of kitchen equipment, consumables and food
  • Maintaining accurate stock and usage records and providing this information to the Unit Manager
  • Handling kitchen budgets and record keeping in accordance with Company policies, guidelines and procedures
  • Keeping the Unit Manager informedĀ  on all related client issues such as special requests, suggestions or complaints
Requirements

Skills

  • High level of organization and ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to deal with all the difficulties that this role can bring
  • Must have high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Individual should have a pleasant personality, flexible, be a self starter with good customer care skills
  • Excellent supervisory and coaching skills
Education & Experience
  • Diploma in Food Production from a reputable institution
  • 5 years of experience at the level of a cook in a three star hotel/club, public and/or private institution or its equivalent.
