Call for Sacco Service Providers
As part of the SACCO reforms project implemented through a partnership between the SACCO Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) and FSD Kenya, MicroSave and the Cooperative University College of Kenya (CUCK) are launching a programme to develop capacities of consultants/service providers in:

  • individual lending and delinquency management; and,
  • risk management for the deposit taking SACCOs.
The programme will consist of a five-day classroom training of trainers and field based consultancy supervised assignment in each of these tracks.

Qualifying consultants in each of these disciplines will be certified for proficiency.

The process is highly competitive and only those meeting the set standards will be certified. It is anticipated that certified consultants will in future provide both training and consulting services as certified services providers (CSPs) to deposit taking SACCOs.
Minimum selection criteria
Prospective consultants are expected to meet the following minimum selection criteria:
  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognised University.
  • Three years experience in the financial sector.
  • Successful completion of one consulting assignment for either a SACCO or a microfinance institution
  • Experience in training, credit management, delinquency management or risk management is an advantage.
  • Trainings are anticipated to be held in mid-October 2013 in each of the two streams.
  • Consultants will then undertake consulting assignments in the following two weeks.
  • Consultants will not be paid during the classroom training but a stipend will be provided for the consulting assignments.
Applications should include:
  • A detailed CV indicating clearly consultant’s experience.
  • A covering letter indicating suitability and availability for the training programme.
  • A letter of endorsement from one of their financial institution clients.
Applications should be submitted to sacco@microsave.net by Tuesday 24th of September 2013 from individuals or institutions.
Where institutions are submitting applications, only CVs of the proposed individual(s) should be provided.
Prospective consultants should specify only one track for consideration.
Shortlisted applicants will be notified and invited for an interview by a selection panel.
