Programme Officers Job Vacancy at Transparency International Kenya  in Nairobi and Eldoret 2013

 

Transparency International Kenya (TI-Kenya) is a not-for-profit organization that aims at developing a transparent and corruption free society.
TI-Kenya seeks to fill the following positions:
 
I. Programme Officer – Extractive Industries and Devolved Government reporting to the Programmes Coordinator, Governance and Policy

Job Location: Nairobi
 

Overall Purpose:
To develop and implement interventions on extractive industries that promotes responsible, participatory, transparent and accountable resource management.
The programme officer shall also implement projects to strengthen public participation, promote transparency and accountability in devolved governance;
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Geology, Law and or Political Science. Master’s Degree will be an added advantage;
Three years’ experience in implementation of:
a. Policy and legislative analysis in extractives and related sectors
b. Community engagement in natural resource management
c. Local governance projects and Capacity Development and;
d. Development programs and management of partnerships.
II. Programme Officer – Advocacy and Legal Advice Centre, North Rift reporting to the Programmes Coordinator – Citizen Demand
 
Job Location: Eldoret
Overall Purpose:
To promote legal advice and assistance to victims or witnesses of corruption through partnership with legal aid organisations;
Enhance citizen’s access to legal services to address matters of corruption;
Undertake advocacy on anti-corruption reform and
Enhance institutional capacity in complaint assessment and processing to enable citizens pursue corruption-related issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree in Law from a recognized university;
  • Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
  • Four years’ experience in a similar environment.
