PSU Coordinator
Role: Programme Support Unit Coordinator (PSU Coordinator)
 
Reports To:  Senior Programme Manager
Liaises With:  Business Support Unit and all other Departments
 
Duty Station: Marie Stopes Kenya Support Office Nairobi.
Type of Contract:  Fixed Term – 2 years
 
Salary: 160,000 to 180,000 Gross Pay

Purpose of the role

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Manager, the Programme Support Unit (PSU) Team Coordinator will be responsible for supporting programme planning, implementation and administration of a broad range of projects across all three service delivery channels of Marie Stopes Kenya

Essential Duties
  • Ensure effective leadership and management of the PSU team, identifying development and training needs, strengthening overall team performance and cohesion and ensuring commitment to and application of MSK values.
  • Ensure implementation of financial, administrative and logistical systems to support smooth and effective running of projects and delivery channels.
  • Responsible for the direct project management of designated projects e.g. FOQUS and for ensuring that project deliverables are achieved.
  • Support preparation and implementation of project work plans and budgets, monitor progress against targets and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
  • Ensure Programme Coordinators are providing effective support to Project and Programme Leads to facilitate successful delivery of objectives and ensure client-focused programming and service delivery.
  • Support the identification of new opportunities and the development of donor proposals and concept notes.
  • Ensure effective coordination and liaison across MSK departments, representing PSU at meetings as required and being the initial point person for London in relation to grants management.
Key Knowledge, Experience and Competencies
  • A University Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • Excellent written and oral  English and Kiswahili
  • Computer software literate incl. high competency levels re. excel
  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience in similar context
  • Proven experience in donor report writing and development of work plans
  • Experienced in managing project budgets
  • Evidence of experience in coordinating teams
