Kenya Film Commission (KFC) is a State Corporation mandated to facilitate the development of a vibrant film and television industry in Kenya and to market the country’s filming potential locally and internationally.
KFC works closely with film stakeholders, government agencies, private organizations, professional bodies and associations in the film industry and other film commissions.
KFC has exciting career opportunities and now seeks to recruit the appropriate persons to fill the following senior positions:

Kenya Film Commission, seeks to recruit a dynamic, visionary and innovative person to fill the position of the Chief Executive Officer.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer will provide leadership to the management team, ensure the development of a robust local film industry and promote Kenya as the preferred destination for film production in Africa.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fostering, within national and county governments, industry stakeholders, and the private sector- development, coordination, regulation and promotion of the film industry in Kenya.
  • Facilitating the provision of content development, funding and investment for film projects. Setting up and operating a special fund. Undertaking comprehensive and continuous assessment and ensuring resolutions to the needs and problems of the film industry.
  • Overseeing the promotion, monitoring and evaluation of the progress on all aspects and activities of the film industry in the country.
  • Encouraging marketing, distribution, exhibition and dissemination of Kenyan films and television programmes.
  • Creating and managing a film archive and resource centre.
  • Developing Kenya as a centre of excellence in film production.
  • Leading the management team and ensure the staff are adequately trained, guided and motivated.
  • Overseeing the development, implementation and regular revision of the Commission’s corporate strategy and policies.
  • Promoting the commercialization of the film industry in Kenya.
  • Developing an appreciation of Kenyan film and television.
Job Requirements

The ideal candidate should:

  • Possess a Bachelors degree from a recognized university.  Masters degree (preferred).
  • Have over seven (7) years experience at senior management level.
  • Demonstrate business, managerial, administrative and fundraising skills.
  • Be result-driven with proven organizational development skills.
  • Show leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be charismatic, presentable and articulate.
  • Enjoy working with diversity.
Terms of Service

An attractive remunerative package, commensurate to your qualifications, experience and responsibilities and in line with government guidelines, is offered.

This appointment is on a three (3) year renewable term contract, subject to satisfactory performance.
