Medical Director
Ref: HRD/MD /04/15
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for consolidating and developing the Clinical Services Division.
A seasoned leader, the successful candidate will also possess a unique blend of clinical and administrative experience and will be responsible for the following amongst others:-
  • Providing clinical and business leadership for multi disciplinary clinical departments.
  • Ensuring sound standards of clinical practice are in place and implemented.
  • Championing evidence based practice.
  • Facilitating effective interfaces between the Clinical Services Division and other division to enable seamless patient care.
  • Facilitating smooth organisation and coordination of Admitting Staff structures and services.
  • Spearheading implementation of clinical governance.
  • Championing the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical protocols.
  • Overseeing quality assurance and ensuring the Hospital has an integrated approach, systems and methods for pursuing continual improvement.
  • Ensuring the hospital’s internal and external disaster preparedness mechanisms are up to standard and tested regularly.
  • Promoting and establishing affiliations with other health care institutions for capacity building, benchmarking, research and development purposes.
  • Ensuring an effective hospital wide medical records system is in place.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Masters of Medicine with a sub specialization, a PhD will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 15 years of related work experience including executive level management experience of at least 5 years.
  • Demonstrable high level of interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking, deductive reasoning and decision making skills.
  • Rounded experience in wider business management.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations.
Assistant Medical Director
Ref: HRD/AMD /04/15
Reporting to the Medical Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that ensure the highest standard of clinical care are practised in line with global medical standards.
An effective influencer and champion of continual improvement the successful candidate will be responsible for the following amongst others:-
  • Ensuring the provision of high standards of evidence based care.
  • Steering the development, review and effective implementation of clinical practise policies, standards, protocols and procedures.
  • Facilitating continuous improvement of clinical care, services and facilities.
  • Championing patient advocacy and ensuring the highest standards of customer service in patient care are maintained.
  • Undertaking ward rounds on a regular basis to keep in touch with patients, staff, wards and departments and strengthen patient care and facilitate appropriate decision making.
  • Coordinating resolution of medico-legal matters.
  • Providing leadership for all hospital clinical and non clinical quality improvement programs and audits.
  • Facilitating continuous medical education programs and symposiums.
  • Overseeing the specialist recognition program.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with colleagues and
  • Admitting Staff to enable seamless multi disciplinary provision of patient care.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Masters of Medicine with a sub specialization.
  • A minimum of 10 years of related work experience including senior level management experience of at least 5 years.
  • Astute interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to effectively juggle multiple reporting relationships.
  • Excellent critical thinking, deductive reasoning and decision making skills.
  • Proven experience in leading improvement programs.
