Vacancy: Quality Control Supervisor

Location: NakuruOur client, a leading manufacturing company of Oil, Fuel, Hydraulic and Air Filters, seeks to recruit a Quality Control Supervisor to ensure that their products and services are fit for purpose, consistent and meet internal, external quality standards, legal compliance and customer expectations.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Devising and establishing a company’s quality procedures, standards and specifications as well as health and safety in the workstation.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in inspection of workstations to ensure adherence to company quality standards and customer specifications:
  • Draw sketches and write inspection procedure for each new item to be fabricated, indicating areas to be examined, measuring devices to be used, and maximum and minimum acceptable dimensions
  • Distributes sketch and procedure to engineering, production control, and inspections workstations.
  • Making sure that the production processes meet international and national standards;
  • Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports;
  • Working with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers; and notify suppliers and subcontractors of reasons for rejection of materials and parts received.
Professional Skills and Competencies
  • A minimum of B.Sc /B.TECH/B.E and 4 years relevant experience in quality engineering, mechanical engineering, production line operations – preferably with a major automotive company.
  • Ability to employ a variety of measures and management systems, including the ISO 9000, total quality management (TQM), as well as the continuous improvement process.
  • Ability to manage difficult suppliers and resolve disputes while preserving relationships with suppliers and internal staff.
  • Excellent problem solving ability in cross-functional and multi-cultural environment; able to define problems, collect relevant data, extract meaning from data, and draw valid conclusions
  • Exceptional analytical skills with regards to logistics analysis, data manipulation, and the ability to create information from data.
