Program Description: The Research Care and Training Program (RCTP), is a collaboration between Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and University of Washington (UW)
RCTP is seeking motivated individuals to fill the following vacancies for integrated Community Case Management of pneumonia, Malaria, diarrhea in Children under 5 years project.
Job Title: Team Leader (6 Positions)
Reports to: Survey Coordinator
Duty Station: Homa Bay County
Duration: 1 Month, starting Mid May 2014
Vacancy No. FN-017-05-2014
- Lead and supervise a team of two data collectors
- Assist in data collection
- Review completeness of forms
- Regularly and timely updates of data collection progress
- Liaise with CHWs and organize for interview venues
- Carry out participant reimbursements
- Any other duty as assigned by study coordinator
Requirements: University degree (Sociology, Anthropology, Nursing, Education) with at least 2 years research experience in a supervisory position OR Higher diploma with at least 5 years research experience in a supervisory position
Job Title: Examiner (6 Positions)
Reports to: Team Leader
Duty Station: Homa Bay County
Duration: 1 Month, starting Mid May 2014
Vacancy No. FN-018-05-2014
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose and prescribe medicine for sick children
- Consult with CHWs to change treatment where necessary
- Complete data collection forms
- Review completeness of data collection forms
- Conduct interviews where necessary
- Any other duty as assigned by Team Leader
Requirements:
- Registered community health nurse, Clinical officer, Enrolled community health nurse.
- Experience working in research project is an added advantage
Job Title: Observers (6 Positions)
Reports to: Team Leader
Duty Station: Homa Bay County
Duration: 1 Month, starting Mid May 2014
Vacancy No. FN-019-05-2014
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Observe and record data during CHW consultations with sick children
- Complete data collection forms
- Review completeness of data collection forms
- Conduct exit interviews
- Any other duty as assigned by Team Leader
Requirements:
- Diploma level training with at least 2 years research experience
