DAC Aviation (EA) Limited provides contract air service, including aircraft, aircraft maintenance, aircraft parts, flight training, flight personnel and related aviation support systems.
DAC Aviation (EA) Limited is heavily involved in humanitarian projects through the logistical support of commercial, governmental and nongovernmental projects in Cote devoire, Sudan, the democratic republic of Congo, Somalia, Chad and neighboring countries.
We have the following vacancy which we would like to fill with a qualified individual who wishes to be part of a professional team.
Maintenance Manager

Requirements:

  • Is a KCAA AMEL holder or equivalent with a multi category cover or a holder of degree in Aeronautics
  • Has aviation maintenance experience in excess of 15 years at a senior management level covering most areas of maintenance
  • Has a demonstrated ability in the management of a similar sized organization
  • Has an in-depth knowledge of the local, regional and international aviation industry
  • Has a full understanding of the civil aviation regulations as they affect maintenance of aircraft.
  • Must have outstanding people and communication skills.
Key tasks:
The Maintenance manager who carries out the administration of the maintenance department must ensure that the work performed on DAC Aviation aircraft is in compliance with civil aviation regulations and recommendations of the manufacturers in order for the company to meet the conditions of an Approved Maintenance organization.
In fulfilling the foregoing, he will ensure that he has qualified personnel capable of adhering to the company procedures in order to maintain a standard of airworthiness and reliability demanded by operational schedule.
He/She will ensure suitable arrangements for facilities and equipment.
Responsibilities:
  • To define and deploy technical staff and available resources,
  • To estimate time and cost jobs and ensure that the technical department is able to meet its targets in a cost effective manner
  • To arrange training in order to ensure that personnel are conversant with proper work practices and procedures
  • To ensure acquisition of tools and equipment for the appropriate tasks;
  • To ensure that personnel observe safety precautions at the workplace to prevent injury to staff and damage to aircraft and equipment.
  • To prioritize the purchasing of spares to ensure that the aircraft fleet will always have the needed parts on time
  • To have in place a training program with focus for present and future needs.
  • To negotiate for, monitor and implement third party agreements on behalf of DAC for contracted maintenance arrangements.
  • To ensure that personnel comply with the appropriate manuals, KCAA regulations and manufacturer’s recommendations, and additionally to motivate staff so as to obtain a high degree of quality and safety on work performed on aircraft and other areas.
  • To program and progress all work and ascertain that sound engineering practices and quality control procedures are followed, and that entries on work sheets and work orders have been duly signed off by those responsible for each job.
  • Report to the C.E.0 and Accountable Manager regularly on department performance and fleet availability status.
