Society for Family Health (SFH) is a non-profit organization in Rwanda. It is the largest social marketing organization in Rwanda, with five regional offices across the country. Working in partnership within the public and private sectors, and harnessing the power of the markets, SFH provides life-saving products, clinical services and social and behavior change communications(SBCC) that empower the world’s most vulnerable populations to lead healthier lives. SFH implements diverse public health interventions in HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, malaria, and maternal and child health including nutrition. SFH’s activities ranges from product sales and distribution to social and behavior change communication, advocacy, reproductive health research, and community mobilization. SFH’s donor platform is USAID, Global Fund, DOD and numerous other donors.
The Communication Associate Manager will be a strategic thought-partner, and report to the Executive Director.  The successful candidate should develop, implement and maintain a communication strategy and corporate branding for all SFH programs including online, social media, fact sheets etc.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COMMUNICATION ASSOCIATE MANAGER
The responsibilities of the Communication Associate Manager are but not limited to:
  1. Develop and implement the annual communication plan to position and promote all SFH health products in close collaboration with different programs and key partners;
  2. Work in partnership with the Total Market Approach Manager to develop the annual marketing plan;
  3. Manage all aspects of products promotion, including night events, radio spots and print media;
  4. Work closely with sales and distribution team and field staff to manage the 4 Ps (product, price, placement and promotion) for SFH Health Products;
  5. Use available evidence to improve upon current promotional activities to increase reach and cost efficiency;
  1. Oversight of budget for SFH Health Products communications and promotions activities;
  2. Attendance in BCC technical working group;
  3. Comply with all SFH policies and procedures as well as SFH’s donors rules.
  1. Provide monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the supervisor;
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mass-media, Communication, Marketing or related degree preferred;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing and communication;
  • Experience in qualitative research such as implementation of focus group discussions;
  • Experience in event planning and product promotion;
  • Strong experience of assessment, monitoring and evaluation techniques;
  • Ability to collaborate with people and organizations of diverse background;
  • Experience conceiving, planning and executing programs or projects with documented results;
  • Experience in budget management and program implementation;
  • Excellent facilitation and negotiation skills;
  • Proven report writing skills;
  • High standard of written and spoken English.
The successful candidate will also have excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and cross-cultural skills; demonstrated ability to perform and prioritize a variety of tasks on short notice within designated deadlines; able to maintain efficiency in a fast-paced work environment. S/he will be outcome oriented, able to manage multiple priorities at a time, and able to keep their departments moving with minimal day-to-day supervision from his / her supervisor.  This highly professional individual will be comfortable speaking and working in public settings.

STATUS:
  •  Full-time position, based in Kigali, Rwanda with travel up to 30% of the time.
