TVET Senior Program Officer (TVET SPO)-Job Vacancy In Rwanda November 2013
Global Communities is seeking a Senior Program Officer (SPO) (Workforce Readiness) for the Technical and Vocational Education Training Unit in Global Communities will oversee the organization’s work to prepare students beyond their formal TVET to enter the workforce. This includes helping to establish peer-to-peer approaches within partner TVET institutions to improve confidence, communication, and interpersonal skills among students.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The SPO will specifically be responsible for the following;
– Coordinate a variety of extra-curricular activities for TVET students to promote life skills, entrepreneurship, and workforce readiness.
– Mobilize, train, and support partners to deliver extra-curricular activities to TVET students.
– Support the collection, analysis and management of data/knowledge to track student progress and to provide recommendations for ongoing improvements. This includes periodic assessments, analysis of partner reports and providing regular and timely feedback.
– Assist in the development of all program reports.
– Represent Global Communities in technical meetings and other forums as requested.
Given the nature of the work, and consistent with all CHF staff, the SPO will be expected to be flexible and may be asked to carry out duties, which are not specifically listed above. The job description may be revised after discussion between the staff member and the organization.
– Minimum 4 years professional experience, preferably with USAID-funded programs.
– University Degree required; Masters degree preferred in related area.
– Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the field of education – knowledge of TVET is an asset.
– Demonstrated capacity to manage and lead a team.
– Excellent writing and communication abilities.
– Advanced computer skills – MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
– Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda.
– French fluency a plus.
