Our client, Philips wish to recruit a dynamic Business Line Specialist

Job Profile
Drive & grow the professional lighting solution segment business within East Africa, with good understanding of market demand and the requirements from stakeholders.
Develop and manage product portfolio of the professional lighting solution business within East Africa, by translating market demand to product ideas in accordance with the Strategy Plan. Secure market competitiveness / contribution margin and maximum sales per type number within assigned portfolio.

Work with marketing research to analyse and develop strategy plan for the assigned segment within East Africa.

Discuss and set annual operating plan for the segment based on the Strategy Plan.
Manage the product portfolio and develop programs to achieve sales target.
Manage the Pricing activities according to the Pricing policy, to ensure sufficient profits on assigned segment and maintain Philips brand index vis-a-vis competitors.
Coordinate with the Africa Product Managers to plan new product development and launches.
Support Key Account Teams to develop customers; and support Regional Sales Organisation sales team to achieve sales growth and maintain long term relationship with key customers/distributors.
Participate in and support the planning and implementing of various activities, such as seminars, new product trainings, lighting club programs, and etc. within budget, in order to help the sales growth.
Build and maintain close relations with customers including lighting experts, specifiers, consultants, government officials, as a method to explore any potential sales opportunities and strengthen Philips leadership in the market.
Person Profile
  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar job in B2B or in the construction industry.
  • Technical knowledge of electronics and/or the lighting industry.
  • Customer orientation and ability to bring outside-in strategy perspectives.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills.
  • Ability to align and effectively lead and engage with cross business and functional teams.
  • Understanding of and ability to address cultural diversity and its implication on execution strategy.
  • Remaining calm under adverse conditions.
  • Superior negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and defend strategy and execution tactics as well as company’s value propositions, within all levels of the organization.
