Supply Chain Business Intelligence Officer Job at UNSOS

This position is located in the United Nations Support Office for Somalia (UNSOS) at the Nairobi Duty Station. The incumbent reports to the Chief Performance Management Section in the Supply Chain Management Service.
Responsibilities

The Supply Chain Business Intelligence Officer will be responsible to effectively manage and lead the Supply Chain monitoring and reporting. The incumbent provides advice to the Chiefs of Unit/Section within UNSOS on matter related to end-to-end Supply Chain performance management.

  • Within delegated authority, the Supply Chain Business Intelligence Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Provide expert advice to the Chiefs of Unit/Section within UNSOS and other stakeholders on all issues related to the efficiency and effectiveness of the end-to-end Supply Chain in the mission.
  • Oversee the Supply Chain business performance in the mission.
  • Lead the monitoring of the overall Supply Chain performance in the mission.
  • Coordinate, monitor, evaluate the mission-specific action plans on Supply Chain performance management for providing 360-degree visibility over the end-to-end supply chain processes.
  • Lead the performance reporting based on SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference) metrics and mission specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the mission.
  • Evaluate operational, analytical and strategic reporting solutions.
  • Evaluate data captured from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems modules and other relevant systems of record, suggest and validate solutions for improvements of Supply Chain processes.
  • Design, validate mission-specific KPIs, dashboards for Business Intelligence (BI) and ensure integration and automation of data flow to the designed SCM dashboards, in consultation with relevant sections/units as needed.
  • Lead the Unit in the development of recommendations, based on data analysis, and independent root cause analysis conducted with key stakeholders/business process owners.
  • Ensure that timely and actionable information is produced which helps drive business results and guide decision making process for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the supply chain operations within the mission.

Requirements

  • Advanced University degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Information Management, Business Administration, Mathematics or related field is required. A first level university degree with a combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Certifications in Project Management (PRINCE2 or equivalent), supply chain (SCOR-P, CSCP or equivalent), Lean Six Sigma is desirable.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement or related area is required.
  • Experience in Supply Chain performance management is required. •Experience working with Excel and Data Base Management (Access) is required.
  • Experience in providing logistics and Supply Chain support services in a complex, volatile, conflict or post-conflict environment is desirable.
  • Experience in an international setting is desirable.
  • Experience in developing and implementing ERP Supply Chain management solutions is desirable.
  • Experience in BI, Power BI and Structured Query Language (SQL) analysis tools is desirable.
  • Experience in sourcing, cleaning and preparing data, selecting and developing visualizations/metrics that enable easy communication/interpretation by the users is desirable.
  • Experience in Data Integration is desirable.
  • Experience in Business process analysis, data extraction, transformation and management and data governance and quality audit is desirable.
