Position Overview

  • Develop marketing and business strategies, through the strategic & annual business planning and brand planning process, linking effectively the marketing plans to comprehensive business analysis based on data & insights. Provide marketing thought leadership to the TCCC franchise operations & Bottling system for identifying, creating and prioritizing profitable volume opportunities for the TCCC brand portfolio. Geographic responsibility: Kenya & Tanzania for all portfolio, Portfolio Responsibility: Nutrition (Juices and VAD) across ECAF.
  • Execute integrated marketing programs & innovations pipeline, that maximize profitable, recurring volume growth and increase the long-term value of TCCC brands within the portfolio. Nurture an effective collaborative working relationship & routines with Bottling system, Franchise functions, Business Unit Central Marketing & other supporting service units, as well as
  • external agencies to ensure proper field execution of marketing strategies.
  • Responsible for Brand P&L (all brands in Portfolio), accountable for delivering UC, GP, Share, DME management and Brand Contribution goals, managing day-to-day, ensuring plan execution, implementing corrective/adjustment actions to maximize monthly operating income.
  • Lead, motivate and develop capabilities of the reporting Marketing Team, providing coaching & feedback through the performance enablement system and align on development plans based on marketing competency assessment

Responsibilities for the Marketing Manager Job

Function Specific Activities:

  • Develop Marketing & business strategies and plans in line with data & insights through the SBP & ABP business planning process, and provide marketing thought leadership to TCCC system
  • Execute Marketing programs as per brand plans through detailed project management & routines, and execute through franchise IMC & country marketing teams, agency partners & bottling system
  • Manage Innovations pipeline development in line with portfolio strategy, through the CIF Gate process and implement & track in-market launches 15%
  • Provide Franchise leadership/manage Bottler relationship & build commitment/sell-in marketing plans & innovation pipeline 15%
  • Collaborate closely with Franchise IMC and BU central marketing function, including developing business briefs/providing input to the marketing factory process in order to bring to life locally relevant marketing campaigns
  • Lead Marketing team and provide coaching/feedback through performance management system, and build Marketing team capability based on marketing competency assessment
  • Communication Complexities
    • Extensive High Level Strategic / Operational Interaction with:
    • Internally: Franchise General Manager, BU Marketing Director, Franchise IMC & Central Marketing Brand & IMC teams, Franchise Operations & Functional Teams
    • Externally: Bottling Partners Leadership teams (Country & Group) – CCBA & independent bottling partners, external agencies (media, creative, experientials, PR, digital)
    • Nature and Purpose of the Interaction:
    • Develop and align marketing and business strategies and plans to deliver sustainable system profit growth
    • Execute marketing programs & innovations as per plans
    • Review performance and propose corrective actions plans where required
  • Analysis
  • Business analysis: brand/category performance based on K&I data (retail audit, brand tracking, qualitative data, market intelligence etc.)
    • Local insights development: based on macro & consumer trends and qualitative research/consumer immersions
    • Input into pricing decisions/OBPPC: based on conjoint analysis
    • Financial analysis for innovation projects: based on value chains & investment appraisal
    • Post-implementation reviews of marketing programs & innovations to evaluate effectiveness/ROI
  • Brand P&L and DME analysis
  • Innovation
    • Manage Innovation projects (Product & Packaging) on CIF by working collaborative with other
    • Franchise functions (Innovations manager, operations, finance, commercialization, technical etc.) as well as BU functions where required. Lead across ECAF for Nutrition Portfolio (Juices & VAD).
    • Input into Ways of Working & Marketing processes: within Franchise marketing, collaboration with
    • Franchise functions & BU central marketing & other service functions

Marketing Manager Job Qualifications

  • University/Bachelor’s Degree
  • MBA will be an advantage
  • 10+ Years Experience
