Responsibilities for the Payroll Accountant Job

The role of the payroll accountant will include handling all matters relating to payroll including the End to end processing of company payrolls such as:

  • Accurately maintaining multiple payroll accounts across several ventures
  • Ensuring payroll is processed in a timely manner
  • Calculating salaries and overtime
  • Updating details of new hires and terminations in payroll system
  • Handling all statutory filings arising from the payroll- PAYE, NSSF, NHIF e.t.c
  • Reconciling payroll account balances
  • Maintenance of the payroll system
  • Updating and maintaining payroll records
  • Liaising with staff and management on payroll related queries

Qualifications for the Payroll Accountant Job

  • CPA / ACCA qualified
  • At least 2 years’ and above experience in a similar position
  • Prior experience handling payroll for over 100 staff
  • Knowledge of SAGE accounting software
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly analytical individual with attention to detail
  • Available immediately
