The National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) is a body Corporate established by the Science, Technology and Innovation Act, No. 28 of 2013 (ST&I Act). The mandate of NACOSTI is to regulate and assure quality in the science, technology and innovation sector and advise the Government in matters related thereto.

The position is responsible to the Director General in managing the planning, coordination and implementation of all communications and related matters in line with Commission’s Communications Strategy.

Duties for the Corporate Communications Officer Job

  • Degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations or Marketing, from a recognized institution;
  • Six (6) years relevant experience in corporate communications;
  • Must be a person of integrity, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and be a team player;
  • Ability to maintain confidence and trust regarding sensitive issues;
  • Be ICT proficient;
  • Member to a relevant professional body.

Corporate Communications Officer Job Qualifications

  • To develop and deliver effective communications between the Commission and its external and internal audiences through a range of channels, including media relations, campaigns and publications
  • Initiating and coordinating activities geared towards promoting smooth stakeholder engagement.
  • Initiating, designing, developing, reviewing and implementing a Communications Strategy geared towards attaining and sustaining a positive public image of the Commission;
  • Managing and coordinating media processes including press briefs, press releases and publications to be disseminated to the public;
  • Coordinating customer satisfaction surveys and implementing the survey recommendations;
  • Coordinating interactive public functions and events to promote and publicize activities of the Commission including shows, fairs and exhibitions;
  • Overseeing the monitoring of print and electronic media for topical issues and other nformation deemed useful to the Commission;
