Responsibilities for the Engineering Draughtsman Job

• As a member of the Maintenance Team, you will report to the Planning Superintendent. You will be responsible for developing, auditing and maintaining the accuracy of Base drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD 2016 & AutoCAD Plant 3D 2017 software.
• Preparing piping & instrumentation drawings including but not limited to drawing designs for mechanical & structural plant and projects work
• Conducting regular plant audits
• Integrating post construction and modification plans into recorded drawings
• Editing recorded drawings for consistency and standardization
• Managing, integrating and updating the engineering library and database
• Providing support to engineers and designers
• Ensuring conformance of work to designs through site inspections

Engineering Draughtsman Job Requirements

• Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Civil/Mechanical/Structural/CAD Draughtmanship
• A Certificate in CAD / Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D version 2017 will be an added advantage
• Minimum of 2+ years experience of drafting using AutoCAD 2016 and also design skills in metal fabrication, material handling equipment and grain systems or equivalent
• Experience in a large scale mineral concentrating or engineering operation an added advantage
• Knowledge of Computer Managed Maintenance Systems (CMMS) preferably Pronto
• Excellent computer skills with knowledge and experience in Autodesk AutoCAD 2016, SolidWorks, Navisworks, Windows, Word, Excel and Internet
• Strong analytical, problem solving skills and attention to detail
• A good understanding of workplace Health, Safety and Environmental procedures
• Demonstrable ability to work in a challenging environment with a multinational workforce with emphasis on multiple contractor management
• A ‘can do’ attitude
