The Nation Media Group has presence in East and Central Africa with operations in print, broadcast and digital media.
We are seeking to recruit a Procurement Officer to add value to the operations of the group through the Procurement Department.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager and working closel? with other e?ecutives within the organization, the ke? result areas for this position will include:
Ke? responsibilities and duties:
- Effective and efficient sourcing of goods and services, including CAPE? projects, both locall? and internationall?, as per laid down procedures;
- Managing supplier/ customers relations;
- Monitoring market trends;
- Ensuring timel? suppl? of qualit? goods and services that meet all specifications , compan? requirements and from approved suppliers;
- Anal?zing and evaluating RFQ and RFP response documents, recommending the most competitive supplier(s) for engagement and adopting the appropriate purchasing model;
- Liaising with respective suppliers, clearing and forwarding agents, transporters and regulating authorities such as KRA, KEBS and KPA for timel? and effective deliver? of materials;
- Suppliers performance management through regular tripartite meetings with internal customers and evaluation through SAP MM s?stem for optimal value;
- Attending internal customer meetings to better understand their requirements; and
- Contracting and Contract Management
Knowledge, skills and e?perience requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management;
- A Graduate Diploma in CIPS or equivalent professional certifications;
- At least 3 ?ears work e?perience in a similar role in a reputable organization;
- Project management skills and e?perience with a bias on IT/Digital background
- Anal?tical skills
- E?cellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills;
- ?igh degree of integrit? and honest?;
- Abilit? and readiness to work long hours;
- Result driven and a team pla?er; and
- Knowledge of SAP Materials Management module.
