We are looking for a high calibre individual to take up the role of Agronomist, with experience in management, capable of providing effective oversight of the technical, commercial, administrative, financial, legal and regulatory affairs of the company
- Provide effective oversight of the technical, commercial, administrative, financial, legal and regulatory affairs of the company
- Lead a team of other technical and administrative staff to plan, coordinate, lead and implement production in a timely cost-effective and efficient manner
- Implementation of good crop husbandry – Oversee the process from ploughing, planting, crop management to harvesting in according to International Food Quality and Safety Standards
- Establish and sustain an environment and culture of professional excellence across all the cadres of staff
- Development of a production plan – planting , harvesting dates
- Oversee Quality Assurance of Farm products – Development of Job aids for Farm use workers
- Lead and oversee all the required certification processes for the company’s food products including GLOBAL GAP Certification, Organic Certification, Fairtrade and Nurture.
- Training of staff and out growers- orient farm workers and out growers to ensure staff work in compliance with good Agricultural Practices and contribute to meeting the companies production targets
- Work with the Farm manager to develop daily, weekly and monthly work plans that support the company’s annual plans and strategic objectives
- Cultivate and manage good relationship with clients both at leadership and farmer levels as well as with key industry stakeholders and community leaders at local levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy, horticulture or related agricultural sciences.
- At least five years’ professional experience in Agronomy ideally in a management position
- Strong planning skills and ability to generate innovative solutions in highly dynamic work situations.
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills,
