Vacancy: Procurement Officer 
Summary: Our client provides quality insurance and related financial services and is committed to meeting and exceeding the needs and expectations of their clients consistent with global best practices. 
Reporting to the Administration Manager, the Procurement Officer will create value for the company through the use of best practices in the procurement, distribution of all goods and services required to support the various business units in achieving their business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Planning: Developing and implementing procurement plans and budget.
  • Maintenance of Procurement Standards: Coordinate development, review and update the Group procurement policies and procedures; ensure strict adherence to the policies and procedures.
  • Suppliers Research and Selection:  Develop a rating criteria against which all suppliers will be rated, and regularly conduct market research to establish whether the identified panel remains the most suitable.
  • Price Negotiation: Implement strategies to achieve cost savings in procurement of goods and services and regularly negotiate preferential terms with selected suppliers for all goods and contracts to take advantage of economies of scale.
  • Supplies Contract Administration: Ensure all relationships are guided by a written contract and periodically review vendor contracts to ensure they are in line with changing trading circumstances and competition.
  • Inventory Control and Stores Management: Continuously reviewing and improving the utilization of information technology in monitoring and tracking costs as well as maintaining an up-to-date inventory; and prepare periodical procurement reports.
  • Premises Leases and Repairs & Maintenance: Negotiate with the company’s property managers and landlords renewal of leases and oversee office repairs and maintenance.
Education and Skills Required:
  • Holder of university degree and membership of a professional body such as the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) or similar
  • At least five years’ experience in the purchasing of both goods and services acquired in the commercial sector.
  • Excellent knowledge of sourcing best practices
  • Familiarity with global economic trends and the proven ability to negotiate with and convince senior corporate executives
  • Excellent communication skills and utmost integrity
