Call for Proposals: The Kenya. Agricultural Value Chain Enterprises (KAVES) is a five-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The project’s goal is to increase the productivity and incomes of more than 500,000 smallholder farmers through commercialization of staples, milk and horticultural crop production across 22 counties: Taita Taveta, Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Tharaka Nithi, Meru, Kericho, Bomet, Nandi, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Trans Nzoia, Bungoma, Kakamega, Vihiga, Busia, Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, and Nyamira.
We invite applications from potential partners promoting and supplying inputs, equipment, and
technologies
that contribute to commercialization of smallholder production through reducing
production costs and losses, increasing productivity and improving efficiency in the three value
chains.
This initiative aims to increase availability, access, competitiveness, and use of affordable technologies by smallholder farmers either through purchase or rental.

The interested companies should have been in operation for at least two years and be willing to co-invest in scaling up adoption of the technologies to reach more farmers and a wider geographic coverage.
Organizations must be Kenyan entities legally constituted and registered in complete compliance with the laws of Kenya governing and be ready to supply accounts and tax compliance information, if selected.

Procedure for submission
Applicants should submit an Expression of Interest not exceeding three pages, comprising a brief company profile and description of the technologies they are supplying, their scalability to reach more farmers and the level of investment that the applicant is prepared to make in terms of management, technology marketing and promotion, technical expertise and material investment.
Additional material on the company, such as brochures and catalogues, can be attached.
The proposals can be national in impact but must include the target counties listed above, with an aim to deliver visible results within one year.
Preference will be given to companies that can demonstrate significant current business in terms of magnitude of service delivery and technology equipment sales, technical capacity and promotion of game-changing technologies.
