Job Summary: Assistant Human Resource Manager shall be responsible for all the administrative function of the HR function.

S/He shall facilitate the talent acquisition and retention process within the group entities.
S/He will deputise the Head of Human Resource from time to time.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Communicate actively internally about HR, benefits, events etc. as a part of staff on boarding and talent retention process.
  • Manage staff Rewards and Recognition program, convening a rewards committee, managing the coordination and selection of annual employee of the year awards, and other recognition programs
  • Develop hiring strategy to ensure staffing levels are maintained.
  • Responsible for the production of job adverts, both internal and external, as well as the advertising of these through agencies, newspapers or other sources.
  • Recruitment of various positions by reviewing applications, scheduling interviews and interviewing candidate for selected positions.
  • Liaise with Line Managers to ensure all new employees, in their department have probation /contract extension review on time.
  • Ensure that exit interviews are carried out monitored and feedback given to management.
  • Participating in the review of employees performance enhancement plans and their effectiveness
  • Identifying training and development needs using available systems and tools which include the job description,  performance and other career and business plans
  • Participating in determining short term and long term training needs and formulate a training calendar to address the gaps
  • Evaluating all training and development programs and ensure they are within the approved budget
  • Preparing and communicating the performance management calendar, ensuring quality and coordinating quarterly and end year reviews
  • Analyzing staff performance reports and developing an action plans
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to resolve any benefit issues
  • Recognize potential employee relations issues and take or recommend necessary corrective action
  • Assist departments with employee counseling, recognition and discipline.
  • Respond to employee grievances to resolve issues and concerns.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing HR policy and procedures to ensure legal compliance and relevance

Academic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Education.
