Our client, an international Life Insurance organisation, listed in stock exchanges in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and New York, is seeking to fill the position of Head of Agency Recruitment for its Kenya business.
The Position: Reporting to the Head of Distribution, the successful candidate will spearhead the company’s recruitment drive for the organisation’s Agency workforce with oversight responsibility in implementing strategies in improving and growing recruitment sources and channels.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the recruitment team to develop and implement effective recruitment guidelines for agency & broker channels.
  • Execute implementation plans with other agency heads and build motivation and momentum for continued agency force growth.
  • Design, implements and consistently reviews policies and procedures required to manage an effective agency that provides required human resource for the operations of  organisation
  • Manage the team to drive projects focusing on effective recruitment tools development, recruitment campaigns organization and designing incentive schemes to assist the agency in achieving the company’s recruitment targets and deadlines
  • Responsible for KPIs such as numbers of recruiters, activity ratio of recruiters, effectiveness of recruitment activities, frequency of recruitment activities
  • Identify, manage and grow recruiting sources across the business and develop strategies to consistently grow manpower across the business.
  • Be proactive in managing high turnover rate of Agents by identifying risk areas and proposing measures to attract and retain them.
  • Ensure that new hires participate in and complete all training and orientation programmes required to begin work successfully
  • Develop and implement effective ideas and programs  for new hires in order to guarantee a high performing and consistently active sales agents
  • Provide relevant and timely reporting to management including manpower budget/targets
  • Coordinate regularly with Agency Managers to determine manpower needs, manpower needs, deployment model and effectiveness of the of the human capital value chain system.
  • Prepare job advertisements, screening applications, assessments and interviewing potential job seekers
  • Conduct and organize frequent presentations at seminars and venues to inform prospective job seekers about job opportunities within the agency.
  • Provide support required for developing the capacities of new recruits as well as existing sales force to facilitate sound performing sales teams
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline from a credible institution.
  • MBA (Marketing or Human Resource Management) will carry greater weight.
  • Minimum of ten years work experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management /similar role, preferably within multinational organisation.
  • Experience in Life/General Insurance industry would be preferred.
