Regional Environmental, Social and Governance Manager (Nairobi Based)
Reporting to the Vice President Operations, the job holder will work with the Regional ?SE manager, General Managers and countr? teams to ensure compliance, data collection and reporting on environmental, social and governance issues to international standards and best practices as required b? the Board, senior management and ke? investors.
Additional oversight, guidance and tasking for the role will be given b? the Vice President E?ternal Relations. The position will require travel both within and outside the region.

Ke? Responsibilities
- Design and put in place a range of s?stems and procedures to support e?isting and developing Environmental, Social and Governance policies that are primaril? implemented b? the relevant countr? teams and which cover a wide range of Above Ground Risk issues.
- Develop and deliver action plans in coordination with both internal and e?ternal stakeholders to drive the implementation of these policies.
- Monitor and report on compliance through documents publicl? disclosed on the compan? website, Environmental & Social Action Plans, Annual Sustainabilit? Report, Risk Management S?stem and relevant investor questionnaires.
- Deliver, monitor, evaluate and record data on Environment, Social and Governance activities.
- Prepare and present at regular intervals detailed reports on Environment, Social and Governance status and activities in the region to enable internal improvements and e?ternal reporting to ke? stakeholders who have a direct interest in this area of our work
Qualifications and E?perience
- Candidate with a Universit? Degree preferred;
- Minimum 5 ?ears’ e?perience in similar or related field;
- E?perience in the e?tractives sector, oil & gas upstream e?ploration preferable;
- Working knowledge and e?perience of ke?, relevant international best practices as listed below and track record of successful implementation of them within an e?tractive sector environment;
- E?tractive Industr? Transparenc? Initiative (EITI)
- International Financial Corporations’ Performance Standards for Environmental and Social Issues (IFC E&S PS’s).
- CDC’s ‘Code for Responsible Investors’ (CDC Code)
- International Voluntar? Principles for Securit? & ?uman Rights (IVPS?R)
- E?cellent report writing and presentation skills;
