Job Description: Digital Consulting Group Limited is looking for talented Web Developers with ZEND/Code Igniter and other frameworks experience to join our web development team in Nairobi.
Ideal candidate should possess deep knowledge of PHP and should have exhaustively worked on developing applications using PHP frameworks.
Duties
- Using relevant programming languages (PHP/HTML/MYSQL/JavaScript and Open Source CMS (JOOMLA, MODx, WordPress) to design, develop and implement web based creative Solutions.
- Develop and maintain web applications and products using PHP Framework especially ZEND and Code Igniter.
- Liaise with project manager, design & QA team to turn graphic designs into working solutions.
- Work closely with team to ensure adherence to best practice of coding standards and architectures to meet stringent timelines.
- Manage changes, bugs, and enhancements for existing applications, modify the applications where necessary and test their applicability to ensure they conform to the specifications of Clients.
- Prepare the necessary technical documentation and Manuals for the applications.
- Provide end-user training and support.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to assist with front-end development (XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript) would be desired.
- Knowledge of relational database management systems and MySQL database
- Excellent aptitude; ability to solve problems and work independently.
- Knowledge of Windows operating system including installation, troubleshooting and general personal pc maintenance.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide clear and patient instruction.
- Good organization, verbal and writing skills.
- Knowledge of using latest Cpanel and phpmyadmin
Experience
- Professional PHP framework based development experience.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented PHP, MVC and Design patterns is a must.
- Experience with Zend and CodeIgnitor Framework is mandatory. Knowledge of other PHP Frameworks like CakePHP, Symfony and QPHP is a plus.
- Excellent hands-on experience on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL database + jQuery, and cross platform xHTML skills.
- Need to have very good understanding of implementing unit testing.
- Experience working with 3rd party APIs (Facebook, Twitter, Google, shopping engines, GDSes etc.)
- Experience in resolving cross-browser compatibility issues.
- Working on scaling projects with multiple developers on a single codebases.
