USAID Funded OVC Program Chief of Party (COP) Job Opening in Kenya January 2015

 

Our client is recruiting a Chief of Party (COP) to lead an anticipated USAID funded Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) program.
The COP will be responsible for the overall management and operations of the project and report directly to the designated USAID Agreement Officer’s Representative (AOR).
She/he will supervise project implementation covering Nairobi and five coastal counties, and ensure the project meets stated goals and reporting requirements.
The COP will take a leadership role in coordination and implementing partners.

The COP position requires political savvy, as she/he will interact with numerous Government of Kenya (GOK) institutions and senior-level national and county-level government officials.

At a minimum, the COP will have:

  • At least seven years’ experience in managing complex Orphans and vulnerable children( OVC) programs, socials services of similar scope and size
  • The candidates should have  a minimum Master’s degree n socials sciences, public Health management or a related field.
  • At least seven years demonstrated experience as senior staff in at least three of the following areas
  1. Child protection
  2. Economic Strengthening
  3. Social protection
  4. Education
  5. Health & nutrition including HIV/Aids Care
  • Professional level of oral and written fluency in English language.
  • Strong management and communication skills, strategic decision ,leadership qualities,
  • Professional reputation, ability to create synergies where applicable.
