MSF Switzerland Outreach Team Supervisor Job Opening in Kenya 2015
Project Summary: The objective of our project is to provide primary and secondary level of health care to the Refugees in Dagahaley refugee camp. MSF provides a full package of medical care through 4 primary health care units and 1 hospital (100 beds) with 24 hour emergency and OT.

Contract duration: 1 Year (renewable)
Main Tasks:
- First foremost, the team supervisor is a nurse, thus is able to ensure the function of nurse, (refer to it) and to help when there is a need for it.
- Help the community and individuals to select and practice behaviours that will positively impact their health by information, education and communication (I.E.C).
- Ensure or coordinate all medical and administrative tasks related to patient follow up and referral inside the camp to health post or hospital
- Participates in events that will have impact on community i.e. campaigns, research, MSF population census
- Plan the need in activities, coordinate and ensure a good course of those activities in and evaluate these activities
- Supervise and ensure that the CHW and TBA create awareness of existing health services, daily screening, educate the society on health seeking behaviours, refer and find defaulters.
- Management of his/her team: weekly schedule, annual leave, absences…etc and problem solving and conflict resolution among the team
- Daily supervision of CHWS and TBAS and on their work activities and organisation in collaboration with HEAD OF OUTREACH
- Participate in CHWS and TBA training
- Participate in the evaluation of the staff
- Ensure and follow up of referrals whether new, absentees OR defaulters in both health posts and hospital programmes i.e. E.P.I, MENTAL HEALTH, NUTRITION, REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND HOSPITAL WARDS
- Participate in the development of the plan of action
- Actively monitor and report medical activities (correctly fill in patient files, forms, statistics, reports) and analyse these statistics.
- Ensure a relevant transfer of information to the next duty team.
- Report immediately to the technical referent any problem arising in the service, especially the loss/ robbery/damage of medical equipment or medicines.
- Perform any other activities as per request or per program evolution
- nurse diploma, state recognized, for general health services
- Must be have a licence to practice in Kenya
- 2 years’ experience as nurse
- A minimum 6 months experience with MSF (or 2 years experiences in this function outside MSF)
- A significant ability for management
- Good communication skills, ability to listen, flexibility, ability to work with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural people, open-minded, rigour
- Ability to live and work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
