Provision of Consultancy Services for Technical Assistance in Traffic Management Study in the City of Nairobi

The Government of Kenya has received financing from the African Development Bank towards the cost of Outer Ring Road (C59) Improvement Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for provision of consultancy services for Technical Assistance in Traffic Management Study in Nairobi City County being part Nairobi Outering Road (C59) Improvement Project.

The services included under this project are:-

1. Carrying out traffic study to determine the contribution of parking, existing street and junction configurations and pedestrianization to the current traffic flow problems within the Nairobi Central Business District and surrounding areas.
2. Providing recommendations for quick win measures to address current and projected traffic congestion, access delays and Non-motorized traffic requirements.
3. Seeking views from stakeholders on the study findings and recommendations to obtain their buy in.
4. Development of bid documents for procurement of Works Contract to implement the study recommendations.
5. Development of guidelines for assessing development traffic impact studies in urban areas for adoption by KURA.
6. Training of KURA technical staff to be able to undertake traffic impact assessments in urban areas.
The Director General, Kenya Urban Roads Authority now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.).
Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Rules and Procedures for the use of Consultants” of May 2008 and Revised in July, 2012, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below during office hours 0800 hrs to 1700 hrs.
Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by 24th February, 2015 at 1100 hours and mention “Consultancy Services for Technical Assistance in Traffic Management Study in the Nairobi City County being part of Nairobi Outering Road (C59) Improvement Project”.
