Fixed and Unified Communication Sales Specialist


In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for persons who meet the criteria indicated below:

Role Purpose: Reporting to the General manager, East & Central Africa, the job holder will be responsible for identifying, developing, negotiating and winning innovative, technologically advanced and commercially compelling new business opportunities centered on Fixed, Unified Communications, Cloud and Hosting solutions within Vodafone Global Enterprise (VGE) Africa designated accounts.

Key responsibilities will be;

  • Lead, guide and manage key deal teams of NAMs, RAMs and GAMs, and other cross functional support teams to win large, complex and strategic opportunities;
  • Develop relationships with senior customer contacts and drive education and awareness of VGE’s capabilities, now and in the future;
  • Act as a key ambassador and point of reference for Fixed, UC, Cloud and Hosting services relating to new sales into the VGE customer base;
  • Maintain and develop fruitful relationships with key solution partners and 3rd parties, fixed carriers, and integrators;
  • Provide expertise and leadership on the most significant deals in terms of value, strategic importance, and complexity;
  • Influence VGE Account Sponsors, OpCo Board and Group decision makers to secure appropriate resource and delivery as required;
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills & competencies;
  • Degree level in Business or Technology;
  • Experience in complex solution sales and relationship management with a track record of global or enterprise solution selling;
  • Knowledge and proven track record in selling Fixed, UC, Cloud & Hosting Services;
  • Deep knowledge of Cisco UC solutions, preferably hosted. Good knowledge of  Microsoft Lync and other market leading IP PBX Solutions;
  • Experience of developing and defining strategic roadmaps for complex customer solutions and customer outsourcing initiatives;
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in the regional knowledge of compliance with local rules and regulations for solutions;
  • Experience and evidence of identifying customer requirements and developing creative and innovative customer-centric solutions with an international context;
  • Team player, capable of networking at senior CXO levels amongst industry leaders with strong relationship management skills;
  • An understanding of corporate governance in complex organisations;
  • Ability to work and manage in an ambiguous and changing environment;
  • Proactive, self-motivated, ability to work independently, prepared to cold-call;
  • Multilingual desirable;
