Employment Vacancy for Retail Channel Manager in Kenya July 2014

 

Our client, one of the leading companies in producing Human food and animal feeds, is looking for a Retail Channel Manager.
 
Job Purpose: Develop and implement Modern retail strategy to grow the company business in Modern Trade -Retail Supermarkets, all Direct Priority Supermarkets and indirect Priority Supermarkets served by the company SRDE Distributors by driving presence and growing volume, value and market share through building superior relationship as a preferred business partner.

Principal Accountabilities / Key Result Areas:
  • Achieve set Budgets by sharing with Supermarket head offices on their weekly and monthly sales volume targets and enforce the Company Must Stock Keeping Units (SKU) List to manage Out Of Stock (OOS) as will be measured through the quarterly Retail Audits and monthly sales volumes sold per outlet.
  • Directing, coordinating and Monitoring the Company marketing, Trade marketing and promotional activities within agreed budgets. This will include product listing, new product launches, sales promotions, advertising, in-store branding and share of shelf management among other tools guided by marketing mix of Pricing, Promotions, Product and Placement.
  • Liaise with cross functional Company teams and respective Direct Retail Accounts head offices – develop and enforce an efficient and effective Company products Scheduled Delivery (SD) plan daily, weekly and monthly sales volume targets to ensure optimal Truck Turnaround Time (TAT) and an enhanced Company customer service level as will be measured through the quarterly customer satisfaction audit.
  • Communicate and enforce the Company business trading terms and prevailing prices to customers and ensure all Company credit policies and procedure are adhered to by the Retail Accounts channel .
  • Develop, motivate , train and coach the Company Retail Channel Sales force comprising of Trade Marketing Reps (TMR’s) Outsourced Merchandisers , Supermarket Category Shelf Stockers and Supermarkets’ Warehouse staff working within the Key Retail Accounts and Priority Supermarkets on the Company products specifications & attributes, product handling, product stock rotation through First In First Out (FIFO), product merchandising standard using the approved Planogram, POS placement and management.
  • Ensure effective and efficient management of company assets including company sales vehicles assigned to the Field sales team and any Company assets placed within the Company -Retail Trade Channel to support the Company business growth initiatives.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly business review meetings with respective retail chains management and come up with action points while sharing weekly and monthly reports on performance and market intelligence to guide the Company leadership in decision making.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
  • A University Graduate
  • Post graduate (Diploma / degree) qualification in Business Studies
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial business management with a bias in Retail Chains management
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suites
