Our client is a water and solar products provider.
They handle borehole drilling, selling water pumps and irrigation solutions etc.
They seek to hire a drip irrigation technician.
The main role is to assist in installation and after sales service of drip irrigation systems
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure the conservation of water by dripping pipes to water gardens and farms.
- Ensure that the drip irrigation method is running smoothly and efficiently
- Prepare a Bill of Quantities on the materials needed
- Irrigation mechanism that will be used in irrigating the gardens
- Install the drip irrigation system in the farm or garden or wherever needed
- Advice for the proper drip irrigation systems to ensure for the water conservation
- Do the common work such as repairing PVC pipes, valves and sprinkler heads and others
- He or she has to do the jobs such as installation of pumps when required.
- Plan about the best irrigation systems and will also to suggest on efficient drip irrigation systems.
- Carry out field surveys on farms and in gardens.
- Understand the landscape before installing the drip irrigator to do the work perfectly
- Study the area first and then design and make the drip irrigation system that will best suit the area.
- Provide help in improving the water and soil conservation methods in the farm to the farmers
- Teach the farmers on the various types of drip irrigations and the various methods and procedures
- Collect the information and related data that will help farmers irrigate their farms.
Qualification & Skills
- Diploma/ Certificate/ Degree in Agriculture/ Water related studies
- Previous experience with irrigation equipment
- Good understanding of soils and water conservation
- Physical ability and good health
