Vacancy: Business Development Manager (Tanzania)
Our client Maridadi Timberworks is a house hold name in Tanzania for household furnishings, fittings and furniture. They retail Bosch, Grohe, Dorma and Huppe products.
They are looking for a Business Development Manager to grow their portfolio and expand their territory.
The ideal candidate would be based in Dar es Saalam, Tanzania and will be expected to manage and increase the sales of home appliances, indoor and outdoor furniture, bathroom & kitchen fittings, lighting plus curtains and carpets.

Job Purpose: To build their market position in Tanzania by locating, developing, negotiating, and closing business relationships.
 

Job Duties:
  • To identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events.
  • To achieve the monthly Sales Target in accordance with the projected business volume & net profit
  • To locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
  • To close new business deals and increase profitability.
  • To build, develop and broaden relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Ensure that existing clients are managed in a way to maximize revenues.
  • Identify new opportunities for products and services in the local market.
  • Build and manage market knowledge, competitor knowledge and industry knowledge
  • Recommend new products which might be an added value for the company.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Skills:
  • Should understand the house furnishings and furniture business.
  • Must be an experienced business developer with at least 2 years experience in a managerial position in an organization dealing with similar products.
  • Must be able to source and import required products.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to be proactive and solutions driven
  • Must be self motivated and responsive; results focused.
  • Must be able to meet sales targets and work with minimum supervision
  • Must demonstrate commercial and financial astuteness.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Is able to work well under pressure
  • Must have well developed ethical standards and high personal integrity
