PRIME ECONOMIC ZONES LTD is looking for:

1. CHIEF ACCOUNTANT

And the responsibilities include:

Under the supervision of the Managing Director;

  • Should be able to handle the entire accounting activities independently up to finalization of accounts and audit;
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly & quarterly financial statements -Prepare reconciliations of Bank statement, Account payable and Account receivable periodically and report if any discrepancies found;
  • Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents;
  • Liaison work with internal and external auditors, banks and regulatory agencies;
  • Ensure all payments to suppliers, staff, and other external parties are made according to company policies and procedures;
  • Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control;
  • Oversee the operations of all accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts receivable, Treasury, Fixed Assets, Payroll, Month end accruals and provisions
  • Manage the training, development and performance reviews of the accounting team members.
  • Responsible for year-end closing and the preparation
    of the monthly financial statements.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and year end management financial reports Review and approve all payment transactions: reimbursements, payments on accounts, vouchers, checks, etc.
  • Handles year-end-closing and monthly financial statements Review balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Liaise with external government institutions such and the department of finance and act as the main contact for internal and external audits
  • Respond to all queries related to financial matters Recommend and draft financial and accounting policies and procedures.
  •  Maintain the accounting manual up to date and ensure the adherence to the manual and all policies and procedures
  • Review and approve journal vouchers
  • Coordinate the accurate and timely payment of suppliers and assist in the preparation of yearly budgets
  • Administer all balance sheet account’s reconciliations
  • Act as the point of contact for queries related to employee and supplier payments
  • Handle special projects as assigned.

Education:

  • Business-oriented undergraduate degree with an emphasis in accounting.
  • CPA or ACCA certificate required

Experience:

  • 10+ years in management positions involving financial operations.

Skills:

  • Strong accounting background, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial analysis;
  • Strong ability to write and/or review financial statements including a complete set of footnotes –
  • Strong management skills.
  • Credibility, full disclosure and clean financial history.
  • Conscientious about assignments and quality of work product;
  • Accountable for specific performance;
  • Team player with a focus on the Company’s results first;
  • Ability to communicate and interact at all levels (upper management and staff)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner;
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order over same;
  • Extremely detail-oriented.

2. Accountant:

Skills

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • 3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Proficient in computerized accounting

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a finance/accounting related field

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Accountant;

  • Process payments and post data entry into the accounting software (Invoices and salaries);
  • Updating cash books on daily basis;
  • Perform bank reconciliations at the end of every month of all PEZ Accounts;
  • Keep the PEZ’s assets register;
  • Do any other assignment that may be instructed by the Chief accountant Profile;

Profile;

  • A bachelors’ degree in Accounting / Finance
  • Proficiency in English. Knowledge of French is an added advantage
  • Minimum of three years of working experience from a recognized institution
  • Knowledge on the use of SAGE accounting software
