Job Requirement
  • Facilitate the communities and other stakeholders in resource mobilization.
  • Facilitates effective participation of children, families, communities and stakeholders in program activities
  • To facilitate communities in the design, implementation and monitoring of community managed projects in line with the CCCD agenda.
  • Establish good’ working relations with children, families, community leadership, community based organizations (CBOs), government extension staff and other stakeholders at ward and village levels
  • Create community awareness and the community volunteer on development education and communication. Facilitate the process of community reflections and project effectiveness.
  • Facilitate meaningful dialogue between children, families, communities and sponsors using Plan’s sponsorship and development communication mechanism and tools.
  • To carry out regular home visits to all sponsored families Promote and facilitate child rights based programming at field level.
  • promote and abide by internal policies and procedures including but not limited to: Child Protection Policy; Code of Conduct; mandatory reporting responsibility
  • Ensures that the Ward and Village Child Protection Committees are fully functional.
  • All partners and relevant others, including children and communities, are trained, sign and have access to the child protection policy (and other relevant documents such as the Code of Conduct), are aware of its contents and clear about the responsibilities it places on them.
  • To develop and submit to the PUM monthly progress and status reports, Projects Outlines with budgets and annual action plans
  • To monitor progress of project expenditures and submit budget modification request to the PUM
  • To mainstream gender programming in all Plan business at the community level.
Skills specific to the post
  • Excellent communication, community mobilization, problem solving and advanced facilitation skills
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
  • Proficient in computer, team building and good interpersonal skills narrative and financial reports as required by the donor and Plan Tanzania.
  • Ensuring overall donor compliance and visibility of Plan, its partners and the donor
  • Managing the project baseline, annual, midterm and end project evaluation reports processes and the reports appropriately disseminated
  • Development and maintenance of positive relations and communication with implementing partners, Government bodies, donors and other stakeholders
  • Thorough understanding of global developments on Child Protection and follow trends and updates to be applied in project implementation.
  • Ensuring that Plan’s Child Protection and Gender Policy and Guidelines are adhered to in project implementation.
  • The day to day management of project staff and resources to deliver on project activities and results
  • Additional project management responsibilities related to child protection grants projects might be added to this position.
Knowledge and skills:
  • Experience in advocacy and Child Protection programming including partnership management and team leadership Excellent and proven project management skills developed in the delivery of similar projects
  • Strong national coordination, representation, networking, advocacy and communication skills utilised in the development of effective working relations across a range of stakeholders in project delivery.
  • Experience of establishing and using monitoring and evaluation systems to demonstrate accountability upwards and downwards in the delivery of projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Ability to work with people from diverse cultures, ability to lead and motivate people to work in teams, including project staff and local government representatives
  • Ability to monitoring project results and expenditures against work plans
  • Computers skills in MS Office and Internet
  • Knowledge of the environment in Tanzania and current effective practice and policy issues as they relate to child protection
  • Degree in Community Development, Development studies, Business, Sociology or/with specialized expertise in education, health, livelihood, water and sanitation.
  • Ability to ride a motorbike
  • At least 1 years working experience in a similar role with a good awareness of current issues in the field of development, and familiarity with children’s issues in particular
  • Experience in an INGO environment would be an added advantage.
Child Protection
Plan Tanzania is a child centered organization. Protecting the rights of the children is of paramount interest to us. Subsequently, all short listed candidates will undergo a police vetting check for criminal offences particularly relating to any type of child abuse. The successful candidate will be required to sign and adhere to the Plan Tanzania child protection policy.
Remuneration
The above positions carry attractive remuneration as per Plan Tanzania salary structure and incentive package.
