Title: Project Geologist
Job Summary
A mineral exploration company is looking for a young, bright and energetic Kenyan to take up the position of Project Geologist on a mineral exploration programme in Western Kenya.
Location: Kisumu, with 70-80% travel to exploration field areas in Western Kenya
The successful candidate will assist with the implementation of:
- Soil, stream and rock sampling
- Exploration drilling
- Geological mapping
- The design of exploration programmes
- Compilation of data into GIS
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelors Degree in Geology
- Willingness to live in Kisumu
- Willingness to work long hours in the field when necessary
- At least three years job experience in a geological position
- Valid driving licence and sufficient driving skills to pass the Company’s own driving test
- A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- High level of personal integrity and honesty
- Strong computer literacy
- GIS skills are an advantage
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
