Responsibilities and Duties

  • They are responsible for business generation from new clients within the market, which is designated and specific, maximising all revenue opportunities for the core business.
  • Ensures they are responsible for their own development, are committed to working as one team and have the drive to achieve targets in changing economic climates.
  • Logical thinking and organisational skills: need to have the ability to think through the logical consequences of the sales process, to understand the key issues when selling to a customer and to think laterally. This means they will be able to think ahead whilst representing the company and themselves in the most professional manner.
  • They will also be able to work to deadlines in a professional manner demonstrating excellent time management skills.
  • Information seeking: to keep abreast of the industry changes and improvements, adding value to the customers’ service by ensuring their needs are always met.
  • They will also be expected to understand the bigger picture in all appropriate instances, using excellent problem solving skills to provide solutions and share best practices within the team.
  • Quality focus: they will be organised, have attention to detail and meets all agreed deadlines. They will seek clarification where necessary to aim to get things done right the first time.
  • Result orientated: they will have drive and energy to achieve outstanding results; in conjunction with taking accountability for their behaviour to do the job well. They will delivery results whilst overcoming obstacle by anticipating problems: showing real entrepreneurial spirit in capitalising on business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate determination, resilience and tenacity to achieve revenue, gross margin and account targets through new sales.
  • Adaptability: to have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, by being open to differing perspectives, embracing the changes whilst maintaining a high level of excellence. They will accommodate and adjust their own priorities to achieve the desired business outcomes in a mature and constructive approach.
  • Self-motivation: to demonstrate responsibility in the work place to maintain a consistently high level of performance, drawing on support from their line manager, their immediate team but ultimately themselves.
  • To make appropriate business decision, work independently, challenge the status quo and organisational norms whilst adhering to the objectives of themselves, the department and the business.
  • Influencing others: to persuade and influence others; this is in conjunction with understanding the needs of others to result in a win-win solution.
  • The new business development executive will also constructively influence and control situations by using a strategic perspective; for example if they successfully identify the needs of a customer they will maximise the sales opportunities.
  • Teamwork and knowledge sharing: they will work co-operatively with others and see their individual contribution as part of the bigger picture. They will focus on sharing knowledge and best practices with others, as well as resolving conflict within the team.
  • It also incorporates sharing updates within the industry, offering an opportunity for others within the team to develop their own ideas, recognising the contribution of the individual whilst growing with the team in the agreed direction to achieve its objectives
Skills and Qualifications
  • Possess previous demonstrable new business sales skills and achievements
  • A customer oriented role, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, strong problem solving skills
  • Experience of working with software services and solutions
  • Experience of supplying to financial services sector is preferred
  • Self-starter, able to initiate and implement projects on their own initiative
  • Enthusiastic to develop fresh ideas and learn new skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with sales, marketing and other key stakeholders
