The Position: Logistics and Inventory Specialist – Fashion Project

Karisimbi Partners is seeking a qualified Logistics and Inventory Specialist to provide full-time support to an innovative new partnership being established between a leading US Fashion company and a new company in Rwanda that will serve as an official Vendor and exporter to the American client. The Logistics and Inventory Specialist will work to solve problems and establish a process for the successful inventory and management of raw materials, tracking the movement of product and shipping processes.  Expediently managing the importing and exporting, in compliance with all relevant laws and policies, is a significant portion of the position.

Duties

Responsibilities include:

Raw Material Inventory:

  • Oversee the setup of the raw material warehouse and the development of all raw material related systems and processes
  • Conduct assessment of all raw materials upon arrival at vendor site
  • Monitor the movement of all RMs through seasonal production across different customers
  • Conduct regular spot checks to assure accountability
  • Carry out monthly/quarterly full RM/tools inventories

 Logistics:

  • Place seasonal orders for raw materials with foreign manufactures
  • Liaise with DHL and any other transport/freight/customs partner

Export/Import

  • Oversee all activities related to packaging and tagging of finished product
  • Manage the procurement of all packaging materials and liaise with fashion client to develop processes and policies related to packaging
  • Liaise with the identified freight company to coordinate the drop off of all raw materials and the pickup of finished orders
  • Deal with all activities related to customs including MAGERWA, duties and freight, etc
  • Act as responsible party for the processing/clearance of any containers

Qualifications

  • English & Kinyarwada speaking required, French an additional advantage
  • Demonstrated experience manage store rooms and product movement
  • Previous work with exposure to import and export processes and laws preferred
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office required
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred
  • Strong organizational skill set and attention to detail a must

Location

The candidate will be based in Masoro, (Rulindo District), but will travel frequently to Kigali.

Compensation & Commitment

Compensation will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.  Candidates are expected to commit to a minimum of one year and would agree to an open-ended contract with Karisimbi Partners.
