A pharmaceutical firm based in Nairobi is seeking to fill the following vacancies;
- Pharmacist
- Telesales and Marketing Staffs
Pharmacist
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- dispensing prescription medicines to the public;
- ensuring that different treatments are compatible;
- checking dosage and ensuring that medicines are correctly and safely supplied and labeled (pharmacists are legally responsible for any dispensing errors);
- supervising the preparation of any medicines (not all are supplied ready made-up by the manufacturer);
- keeping a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes;
- liaising with doctors about prescriptions;
- selling over-the-counter medicines;
- counseling and advising the public on the treatment of minor ailments;
- advising patients of any adverse side-effects of medicines or potential interactions with other medicines/treatments;
- preparing rosette and cassette boxes, usually for the elderly but also for those with memory/learning difficulties, where tablets are placed in compartments for specified days of the week;
- Keeping up to date with current pharmacy practice, new drugs and their uses, etc.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy from accredited institutions, by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in pharmacy.
- Licensed Pharmacist/ Enrolled Pharmaceutical Technologist
- Computer literacy
- Language skills – Good spoken/written English and Kiswahili.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration.
- Skill in the use of computers and related software applications.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
- Knowledge of policies and regulations pertaining to the disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs.
- Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Ability to design and implement systems necessary to collect, maintain and analyze data.
- Ability to supervise and train assigned staff as necessary.
- Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
Telesales and Marketing Staffs
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Sells products by establishing contact and developing relationship with prospects
- Identifying business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry.
- Making accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with quotations.
- Maintains relationship with clients by proving support information and guidance.
- Cold calling to arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business opportunities.
- Listening to customers’ requirement and presenting appropriately to make a sale.
- Professionally responding to incoming phone enquiries and/or emails in a fast, courteous and professional manner.
- Acting as contact person between a company and its existing and potential markets.
- Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales.
- Gathering market and customer information.
- Negotiating on price, costs, delivery and specifications with buyers & managers.
- Challenging any objections with view to getting the customer to buy.
- Creating detailed proposal documents often as part of a formal bidding process that is largely dictated by the prospective customer.
- Reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.
- Gaining a clear understanding of customer’s business and requirements.
- Giving feedback to employer on future buying trends.
- Attending team meetings and sharing best practice with colleagues.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Diploma/degree in Sales and Marketing.
- 2 years experience in telesales preferably pharmaceuticals.

- Ability to think and devise plans on a strategic level coupled with advanced presentation skills.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Kiswahili
- Good influencers with the ability to inspire others.
- Ability to close sales with ease.
