Documentary Production Services for SLM Agropastoral Project
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP Kenya) Country Office wishes to solicit Request for Proposals (RFP)s from experienced firms to undertake the provision of services for the production of a Documentary for the SLM Agro pastoral Project.

Background
Kenya’s landscapes continue to be transformed by the natural and made-factors with major ramifications for the sustainability of the natural resource base and livelihoods of the citizenry.

Failure to manage the landscapes sustainably has contributed to widespread degradation and loss of lands’ productive capacities.

There is continued encroachment of settlements into areas of key importance such as wildlife and livestock dispersal areas and rangelands, as well as the water towers. Further, rain-fed farming has continued to extend into the marginal areas.
These are some of the factors that have continuously undermined land’s productivity and requisite carrying capacity.
The country has also witnessed depletion of its forests and vegetation cover thus contributing to climate change.
Although sustainable land management is important for the restoration of the ecological balance and productivity, it has not been given prominence in the national debates and discussions.
Over the years, land management issues have taken a back stage despite the fact that the country’s key strategic economic sectors of tourism and agriculture together with sustained food security depend on the land resource.
It is for this reason that Mainstreaming Sustainable Land Management in Agro-pastoral Production Systems of Kenya Project, wishes to produce an informative documentary that will bring to the fore issues of land management higher on the national agenda.
Objectives
1. Provide a historical perspective to the SLM issues
2. Showcase impacts of unsustainable land management practices
3. Promote awareness on sustainable land management (SLM
