1.0 Background

Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) was established in 1901 – Its mandate as stated in Legal Notice No.109 of 1987 is to provide specialized healthcare, facilitate training and research and participate in National Health Planning and Policy for the benefit of the nation and the region at large.

KNH has grown from its humble beginnings since 1901 to become the largest (2,000 Bed capacity) teaching and referral hospital in the East and Central African region.

The Hospital wishes to engage the services of a professionally managed and well established PR / Communications Agency to enhance communication with the Hospital’s stakeholders.

2.0 Scope

To devise pre and post publicity plan for specific occasions and hospital events.

3.0 Objective of the Consultancy

The objective is to ensure the Hospital’s efficiency of communication & event management through the agency’s counseling and techniques of professional public relations.

The PR firm will manage the hospital’s events in liaison with KNH’s Corporate Affairs and Communication Department.

4.0 Deliverables

Identification of channels and tools of communications with local and foreign investors.
Determine the focus of KNH image building campaign and develop key messages and themes.
Develop an Integrated Programme of Investment promotion & Image Building Operations for KNH along with the guidelines and checklists for effective implementation of the programmes and events
To devise pre-and–post-publicity plan for specific occasions/events/policy decisions/investment conferences with lay out of the actual expenditure.
Support the hospital’s marketing efforts and overall visibility
Strengthen stakeholder relation
Any other assignment related to Hospital’s events and activities as per the TORs of each event.

5.0 Requirements of Eligible consultants.(Evaluation Criteria)

Provide the statutory registration documents i.e copies of PIN.VAT eg. Certificate of incorporation/Registration Tax clearance certificate etc.
Demonstrate financial and organizational strength by attaching audited accounts for the last 2 years.
The lead consultant should provide CVs for other key staff
Provide details of similar assignments recently undertaken for equally large Organizations, including client lists,
Provide company profile including physical address and telephone contacts.

Any submissions done later than the indicated closing date and time shall automatically be disqualified. Interested bidders or their representatives are invited to witness the opening to be held in the Hospitals Administration block.

Kenyatta National Hospital reserves the right to accept or reject any or all the EOI either in whole or in part and is not bound to give reasons thereof.
